Our experience with Gideon’s Wood Floor Service to install our hardwood floors and steps has been nothing less than pleasurable. Marcus and Kristy were very attentive to our request and worked feverishly to secure the the flooring we wanted. Gideon’s crew was very courteous, respectful and always at the job site on time. I worked closely with Marcus through the refinishing process. He was available to answer questions, communicated regularly and made sure I understood each step of the process. When I went into the house to check out the floors after being completed, they looked UNBELIEVABLE! I never thought that refinished floors could truly look like I just got brand new wood put in. It made the whole house look brand new! I absolutely love the color, everything about them! It was by far worth every penny!

This is the second time we've used Gideon's, and they were outstanding both times. In 2016, Gideon's helped us strip thick green paint from original hardwood floors in a century old Annapolis house. They weaved new boards where the old floors were damaged and refinished everything in place. The outcome was stunning. More recently, we purchased a century old home in Baltimore County. We intended to pull up the carpet and hoped to refinish in place. Unfortunately, the subfloors and wood below were damaged beyond repair, and Gideon's moved mountains to expedite our job - even with the increase in scope. Their team was able to demo several layers of old flooring, replace subfloor where necessary, sand down transitions, and install the new hardwood floors over two days. The finished product is beautiful, and they kept our project track when this otherwise could have been a significant schedule slip.

I had a great experience purchasing new flooring to finish a bathroom remodel. Kristy was very knowledgeable about different flooring products and recommended the Adura Max vinyl plank tile. She could see our vision for the finished product and made some color suggestions that improved the overall look and maintenance of the project. I highly recommend this company for any flooring needs!

Would highly recommend - they replaced flooring throughout our entire home - excellent craftsman - not a flaw to be found. In addition, office and management are highly responsive. One addl note, they were same pricing as home depot yet better quality and better customer service! I’ve already referred them to a neighbor!

My wife and I just purchased a house and had to have new floors put in and old floors refinished to match. Marcus came to the house to give an estimate and could not have been nicer and more professional. While the company was not the cheapest (also not the most expensive) estimate we received, it was the interactions we had with Marcus that directly influenced our decision. Having moved to Annapolis recently we were in need of a new floor in our condo. We asked several neighbors for references and Gideon’s name came up frequently and very positively. I recently purchased my first home and was looking for a hardwood flooring company. My project was to have the hardwood floors sanded and stained and also have the carpet in the master removed and replaced with hardwood floors. I hired Gideon's Wood floors and they were amazing! Marcus came and gave me a reasonable estimate. On the day of the project the workers were on time, explained everything to me and gave me a few samples of the stains on the floors. I had all this done prior to moving in because everyone warned me that there would be dust everywhere. Once my floors were done I was surprised at how little dust was in my home. The floor look wonderful and I'm so happy I hired them. Everyone was so professional, timely, and informative. I highly recommend them for your flooring needs, you won't be disappointed. I tried to install wood floor in my new home by myself and simply ran out of time to dedicate to the project, so I asked around for recommendations for a local company who was experienced with residential wood flooring jobs. I am SO glad that Gideon's was recommended to me by a friend. Not only did my job involve picking up where I had left off upstairs, but it also included matching new wood to existing wood downstairs. They flat-out did an excellent job in all aspects. They completed the job ahead of schedule, communicated with me through the entire project, and Marcus even ran around town to make sure I had the right shoe-mold the same day we discussed it so that the job would not take an extra day. The service was great, and so was the work; I'd absolutely recommend them.

After getting several estimates from other companies, we decided to go with Gideon’s Wood Floor Service- and we are beyond happy we did! We hired Gideon's to install 800 sq.ft. of new hardwood
flooring. They also refinished 400 sq.ft. of existing hardwood and stained all of the flooring to match. Gideon's Wood Floor Services did an excellent job in our house. They worked with existing floors (from 1957) and matched the wood, to tooth in areas where wood was not previously laid. They worked with both white and red oak and matched the color seamlessly throughout the house. They were knowledgeable, courteous and very clean throughout the entire process. Everyone we dealt with, at Gideon was pleasant and efficient. I absolutely LOVE the hardwood floors in our house. They are the finishing touch to a labor of love. I would highly recommend Gideon's to anyone wishing to install or refresh hardwood flooring.

The whole team at Gideon's was knowledgeable, responsive, proficient, and delivered what was promised. I've had 3 occasions to use Gideon's services and they've been wonderful each time. Years ago they sanded and refinished floors when I bought a home. They managed to remove tough stains and brought old floors back to life. Those floors still look good more than 20 years later.
Last year they installed new flooring at my new home and refinished an older section. The finish looks wonderful throughout.
My most recent project was to have them install prefinished wood throughout an entire floor. Again, the work was top notch and the result is fantastic.
Their employees are easy to work with, flexible, courteous, clean and friendly. I would not hesitate to use them again if I needed flooring in the future and I've recommended them to friends and neighbors. It's great to have a local company with such reliable service in our community.

Gideon's did a tremendous job refinishing heart pine wide plank flooring downstairs and also American cherry flooring upstairs. They are thoroughly professional and thoughtful. I have worked with several flooring installers and refinishers, and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Everyone I had a contact with in that company we’re knowledgeable, helpful and professional. They take care of your floors like it is their own house! Since the first time I contacted them to see if they could fix our floors they’ve been nothing but helpful and highly professional! We purchased a house and the hardwood needed refinishing. Itwas prefinished Brazilian cherry wood that is exotic expensive and can be very beautiful, however previous homeowner used a wrong finish or some kind of coating that ended up badly staining the floors. There were also deeper gouges and scratches as well as spilled nail polish and glitter. Gideon’s technician promptly came out to the house and did estimate, he recognized that there were three different types of wood used in our flooring and assured us that the floor can be refinished to its original look. Needless to say they came out very next day and in only two days finished the job. They worked well with my husband keeping him updated on the progress and explaining every step of the way.

Gideon's installed LVP flooring throughout our entire house to include the stairs. Cost was comparable to other estimates we received. Demo and installation took about three days and we couldn't be happier with the results. Highly recommend them!

Gideon and his crew just finished repairing (animal and water stains removed) and refinishing our hardwood floors. They look wonderful. During the estimate, Gideon paid attention to even the smallest request and provided options and his expertise in helping us make the right choices. The scope of the work also included sanding and refinishing water stains on our post-and-beam ceilings and they look beautiful. The pricing was more than fair. The office staff and crew are friendly, professional, communicate promptly and provide excellent, detailed, clean and timely service. Outstanding service.

During the winter of 2015 our home in Lothian suffered damage from two water pipes bursting and flooding our home while we were away for 7 hours. The damage was extensive and required rip-out and replacement of kitchen, dinning room, foyer and a stairway wood floors. Gideon's Floor Service repaired the entire flooring. They did a BEAUTIFUL job. We were so impressed with their work that we hired them again to install another wood stairway on a stair that was previously carpeted. Again, their work was exceptional. Gideon's workmanship is exemplary. Our floors were gorgeous when he was done. He showed up when promised and was flexible enough to work around our other contractors. He had to make a patch in the existing 1st floor oak flooring, and even though we know where it was done, you can't tell its a patch.

We recently bought a historic Annapolis townhouse, and the old floors were in desperate need of some love. We had never worked with Gideon's before (and didn't know anyone who had), so we went in a bit blindly and hoping for the best. They took up ceramic tile from my kitchen and powder room, installed wood in both places and refinished my entire first level wood floors.
